DFVE have presented six new players ahead of the 2026/27 season as the Hungarian club prepares to begin its domestic campaign this weekend.
Kincso Kenez, Bibor Pogonyi, Luca Torma, Natasa Rybanska, Sienna Owen and Sophie Peters were officially introduced at the club’s pre-season press conference, while Zoltan Agner has also joined the coaching staff as assistant coach.
The arrivals represent a significant reshaping of the Dunaújváros squad, with a mixture of international experience and young talent added for the new campaign.
Rybanska is the most experienced of the new signings. The 26-year-old Hungarian international was part of the team that won bronze at the Tokyo Olympics and has represented Hungary at two Olympic Games, as well as winning multiple World Championship medals. She was also part of the Hungarian squad that claimed silver at the 2025 World Championships in Singapore.
Torma arrives after another significant summer for the young goalkeeper. The 19-year-old was included in Hungary’s senior World Championship silver-medal squad in 2025 before helping the Hungarian U20 team win the European title in Oeiras last month, where she played an important role in the dramatic penalty shootout victory over Spain in the final.
She is one of four players making the move from Eger alongside Kenez, Pogonyi and Australian Sienna Owen.
Kenez enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 league campaign, scoring 48 goals in 21 appearances for Eger despite being only 17. Owen was also among the league’s more productive scorers, finishing with 40 goals from 22 matches. The 19-year-old Australian has additionally been selected in Water Polo Australia’s 2026 Women’s National Development Squad, which sits directly beneath the senior Aussie Stingers programme.
DFVE finished fifth in the Hungarian championship last season after defeating III. Kerület in three consecutive games in the fifth-place series. They also competed in the Women’s Champions League during the campaign.
Coincidentally, III. Kerület will again provide the opposition when DFVE begin their new league season this weekend, giving the rebuilt squad an immediate opportunity to make its first competitive impression.
