FTC-Telekom, Olympiacos, Vasas and the Brazilian national team will meet in Budapest this week for the 2026 Telekom Cup, with six matches taking place across three days at the FTC-MVM Népligeti Sportközpont.
The international preparation tournament runs from 17-19 September and will be played in a round-robin format, with each of the four teams facing each other once.
Hosts FTC enter the tournament having already made a strong start to the 2026/27 campaign. The Hungarian champions lifted the Hungarian Cup on Sunday after defeating Vasas 18-12 in the final, with the two Budapest sides now set for another meeting just five days later.
Olympiacos add further European pedigree to the field. The Greek champions remain one of the continent’s leading sides and their meeting with FTC on Saturday morning provides an eye-catching conclusion to the tournament as both clubs continue preparations for another major European campaign.
Brazil complete the four-team field and will be particularly busy during the opening stages, playing Vasas and FTC on Thursday before returning to face Olympiacos on Friday morning.
The tournament begins at 12:30 on Thursday as Brazil meet Vasas, before the South American national team face hosts FTC at 19:30.
Friday contains three matches. Brazil take on Olympiacos at 11:00, followed by the latest meeting between FTC and Vasas at 13:00. Vasas then return to the pool at 19:30 to face Olympiacos.
FTC and Olympiacos will bring the Telekom Cup to a close at 11:00 on Saturday.
With two major European clubs, one of Hungary’s strongest domestic challengers and international opposition from Brazil involved, the tournament provides all four teams with valuable competitive preparation at the beginning of the new season.
All six matches are also set to be streamed live through the FradiMédia YouTube channel.
