France and Hungary Go the Distance in Paris as Hungary Win on Penalties

France and Hungary played out a thrilling warm-up match in Paris ahead of the European Championships, finishing 17–17 in regular time before Hungary claimed the win in a penalty shootout.

A youthful Hungarian side – missing several established internationals – led by three in the final quarter, but France fought back to take a late 17–16 lead. Ádám Nagy equalised with two seconds remaining to force penalties, where Hungary converted all five attempts. France missed once, giving Hungary the narrow victory.

Both teams take positive signs into the next phase of their preparations.
