France and Hungary played out a thrilling warm-up match in Paris ahead of the European Championships, finishing 17–17 in regular time before Hungary claimed the win in a penalty shootout.
A youthful Hungarian side – missing several established internationals – led by three in the final quarter, but France fought back to take a late 17–16 lead. Ádám Nagy equalised with two seconds remaining to force penalties, where Hungary converted all five attempts. France missed once, giving Hungary the narrow victory.
