Report: Bijač linked with return and Pavillard, Kharkov moves emerge

According to Sportske Novosti, early discussions ahead of the 2026/27 season are already underway across European water polo, with several high-profile moves beginning to take shape.

As is typical for this stage of the calendar, formal deals have not yet been completed, but initial negotiations and exploratory talks are progressing as clubs begin planning for next season.

One of the most notable developments involves Croatian captain Marko Bijač. The experienced goalkeeper is reportedly being linked with a return to one of Europe’s top clubs, signalling a potential major move in the upcoming transfer window.

At the same time, Australian left-hander Luke Pavillard continues to be at the centre of transfer discussions. Following reports of a potential nationality switch to Croatia, Pavillard is expected to move to the Croatian league. A transfer to HAVK Mladost appears the most likely outcome, although interest from VK Jadran Split has also been noted.

Further movement could follow depending on squad balance. Konstantin Harkov has been linked with a possible move to Olympiacos, where he could reunite with head coach Elvis Fatović. If Pavillard does arrive in Zagreb, Mladost would potentially have multiple left-handed options, increasing the likelihood of at least one departure.

In parallel, interest is also building around goalkeeping positions across Europe. Pro Recco are reportedly monitoring options, including a potential move for a goalkeeper currently playing with Jadran, as part of their ongoing squad planning.

While these developments remain at the negotiation stage, they reflect the early movement of the spring transfer market, with clubs across Europe beginning to shape their rosters for the 2026/27 campaign.

With several interconnected moves potentially unfolding, the coming weeks are expected to bring greater clarity as discussions progress and formal agreements begin to emerge.
