Pack your water polo briefs and competitive spirit. Gozo is making waves in November
2025 with the launch of the 1st Gozo Waterpolo Masters Tournament, a landmark event
set against the Mediterranean Sea’s most stunning backdrop.

Taking place from 28–30 November 2025 in the heart of Victoria, Gozo—Malta’s tranquil sister
island—, this inaugural tournament brings together passionate 40+ and 50+ masters water polo
players for a weekend of spirited competition and Mediterranean camaraderie. Backed by
VisitMalta and organised by three of Malta’s legacy clubs—Barracudas SC, Balluta Young Boys
(BYB), Comino Masters, and Otters ASC—the event promises a vibrant, community-driven
atmosphere where love for the game takes centre stage in a truly unforgettable setting.

The Gozo Aquatic Centre, Malta’s newly built premier indoor aquatic facility, will host the
matches. Featuring an Olympic-size pool and modern amenities, it offers an ideal setting for
spirited competition, shared passion, and memorable moments both in and out of the water.

This is no ordinary tournament. It is a celebration of passion, perseverance, and the joy of sport.
With age categories 40+ and 50+, each team will battle it out across at least six matches,
featuring 15 players per squad.

The participation fee is €125 per player.

All games will adhere to the latest FINA rules. Games are 25 minutes long (plus a 5-minute
warm-up), ensuring intense but enjoyable gameplay for seasoned athletes.

Off the field, players and fans can look forward to the Welcome Party on November 29 in our
secret venue, featuring free food and drinks included in the participation fee. Players and fans
can also explore Gozo’s rich culture and scenic beauty through optional excursions designed to
give every visitor a taste of local life.

Travel is easy thanks to Malta’s well-connected flights and seamless transfer from Malta
International Airport (MLA) to Gozo, which includes a 20-minute ferry trip from Malta to Gozo.

Organisers are also arranging access to 3-star accommodations, with rooming options for groups
and teams. Further details on accommodation packages will be announced at a later stage.
