Izabella Chiappini joins newly promoted Sori Pool Beach

Sori Pool Beach have completed a major signing ahead of their first season in Italy’s top division, bringing in experienced attacker Izabella Chiappini from SIS Roma.

The Brazilian-born Italian international adds significant quality and experience to a Sori side preparing to make its Serie A1 debut during the 2026/27 season.

Chiappini arrives following two seasons with SIS Roma. During the most recent campaign, the capital club finished first in the Serie A1 regular season and progressed to the championship final, where they were eventually beaten by L’Ekipe Orizzonte in the deciding third match. SIS also reached the quarterfinal stage of the Women’s Champions League.

The 30-year-old has represented both Brazil and Italy internationally. She competed for Brazil at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games before later representing the Italian national team, including at the 2019 World Championships.

Her club career has included spells with Messina, Plebiscito Padova, SIS Roma and French side Mulhouse, as well as periods in Brazil with Botafogo and Pinheiros. Chiappini won the Italian championship with Plebiscito in 2018 and has also lifted the Coppa Italia with SIS Roma.

Chiappini is the latest addition to an ambitious transfer campaign from the newly promoted club.

Sori have also signed Giulia Lombella following her departure from Civitavecchia. The Italian attacker scored 40 goals in Serie A1 last season and will provide another proven attacking option as the club prepares for the step up.

Hungarian youth international Sara Keszthelyi has also joined the team. Born in 2008, Keszthelyi developed with OSC and UVSE and has also gained experience in Spain with Sant Andreu. She was part of the Hungarian team that won silver at the 2024 World U16 Championships and bronze at the 2025 European U18 Championships.

Sori secured a historic promotion after an outstanding Serie A2 campaign, defeating Lazio Nuoto in the promotion final to earn a place in the Italian top flight for the first time.

The arrivals of Chiappini, Lombella and Keszthelyi underline the club’s intention to build a competitive squad rather than simply make up the numbers in Serie A1. Chiappini’s experience, Lombella’s scoring ability and Keszthelyi’s potential give Sori a strong foundation ahead of their debut campaign.
