Olympiacos Women Claim Super Cup Glory with Late Surge Against Vouliagmeni

Olympiacos began the 2025/26 season with silverware, overcoming arch-rivals NO Vouliagmeni 14–11 in Paleo Faliro to secure the third Super Cup title in the club’s history.

The contest at the Resteio swimming pool lived up to expectations, with momentum swinging throughout the first three quarters. But when the match reached its decisive stage, Olympiacos showed their class — holding Vouliagmeni scoreless in the final period while scoring three unanswered goals to clinch the trophy.

Olympiacos Show Character in Tight Contest

Olympiacos struck first through Eleftheria Myriokefalitaki, but Vouliagmeni responded in style with three consecutive goals to take early control. By the end of the opening quarter, NOV held a 4–3 advantage.

The second period was a mirror of the first: Olympiacos came out strong with goals from Elena Santa and Eleni Siouti, only for Vouliagmeni to rally once more. A late penalty from Vasiliki Plevritou restored parity at 7–7 going into halftime, setting up a tense second half.

The third quarter saw Olympiacos open a two-goal lead through Andrews and Plevritou, but again Vouliagmeni responded with a 3–0 run to flip the score to 10–9. Siouti’s lob and Ninou’s close-range strike ensured the sides were locked at 11–11 with eight minutes to play.

Dominant Final Quarter

In the decisive frame, Olympiacos delivered a champion’s performance. Tricha, Santa, and Plevritou all found the net, while the defence, backed by Stamatopoulou in goal, shut out Vouliagmeni completely. The 3–0 run in the final period sealed a 14–11 victory and confirmed Olympiacos’ first trophy of the new campaign.Final Score by Quarter

What It Means

The win adds yet another chapter to Olympiacos’ remarkable story. The Piraeus powerhouse now boasts 336 trophies across all major team sports, and with this Super Cup, they have already swept four out of four domestic Super Cups in the early weeks of the new season.

For coach Dimitris Kravaritis, the result is a statement of intent: Olympiacos are not only favourites in Greece once again but also clear contenders on the European stage.
