Piraeus to host Women’s Champions League Final Four

The women’s water polo season reaches its thrilling climax as the Champions League Final Four returns to Piraeus, Greece, on May 2-3, hosted once again by Olympiacos SFP.

This prestigious event marks the third occasion the Greek club has welcomed Europe’s elite teams to their renowned Papastrateio pool.

Olympiacos, eager to reclaim the title, will be joined by reigning champions Astralpool CN Sabadell, bronze medallists CN Sant Andreu, and debutants FTC-Telekom from Hungary. The stage is set for another memorable showdown, highlighted by a fierce semifinal rematch between Olympiacos and Sabadell, the two powerhouses who contested last season’s gripping final.

In 2022, Olympiacos triumphed at home in Piraeus in a historic event—the first Final Four played in front of fans after the pandemic—defeating Sabadell in an unforgettable final. However, last season, Sabadell turned the tables in Barcelona, capturing the trophy in front of their passionate supporters. Now, Olympiacos seeks redemption in their own backyard.

Sant Andreu, returning after securing bronze last year, will challenge Hungarian newcomers FTC-Telekom, who have made an impressive run to their first-ever Final Four appearance, adding fresh excitement and unpredictability to the tournament.

The iconic Papastrateio pool, known for its electric atmosphere and passionate fanbase, promises another unforgettable experience as it hosts four intense matches to decide Europe’s top women’s water polo team.
