Pro Recco claim 38th Serie A1 title after perfect domestic season

Pro Recco have been crowned Italian champions for the 38th time after completing a 3-0 sweep over Brescia in the Serie A1 final.

The defending champions sealed the title with a 17-12 victory in Game 3, finishing the 2025/26 Italian League season with a perfect record: 33 wins from 33 matches.

Brescia, playing in front of their home crowd, pushed Recco hard in the first half and threatened to extend the series. The hosts led 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 during a competitive opening phase, but Recco gradually took control and went into half-time with a narrow 7-6 advantage.

Brescia drew level at 7-7 through Vlado Popadic at the start of the third quarter, but that proved to be the turning point. Recco responded immediately with a 3-0 run to move 10-7 ahead. Filippo Ferrero pulled one back for Brescia, but the visitors struck three more times before the end of the period to open up a decisive 13-8 lead.

From there, Recco managed the game professionally, keeping Brescia at distance throughout the final quarter and closing out another domestic title.

Francesco Condemi led Recco with four goals, while Alvaro Granados and Giacomo Cannella scored three each. For Brescia, Ferrero and Popadic both finished with hat-tricks.

The victory completes a dominant domestic double for Pro Recco, who won both the Italian League and the Italian Cup this season. However, they fell short in Europe, losing both the European Super Cup and the Champions League final.
