Nikola Jakšić, one of the world’s best defenders and Radnički Kragujevac’s standout player, will be sidelined for at least another month due to a shoulder injury.
The Serbian international has yet to appear this season, and recent medical examinations confirmed that the issue is more serious than initially expected. Jakšić is suffering from a chronic shoulder joint injury — the result of years of continuous competition for both club and country. The injury requires rest and ongoing therapy, delaying his return to full training and match action.
Radnički, led by coach Uroš Stevanović, have made a solid start to the season despite his absence — recording wins over Vasas in the Champions League, as well as Budućnost and Šabac in the Regional League, though suffering defeats to Jadran Herceg Novi and Novi Beograd.
Jakšić’s absence will be a major blow ahead of key upcoming Champions League fixtures against Mladost in Zagreb and Olympiacos. However, as reigning Serbian and Regional League champions and Euro Cup runners-up, Radnički will look to rely on their depth and tactical discipline to compensate for the loss of their captain.
