Randelovic and Dedovic sign for Radnicki

The water polo season has just started, and Radnički Kragujevac is already making waves with two major reinforcements for their squad.

Following the signings of Nikola and Petar Jakšić, Strahinja Rašović, Radomir Drašović, and Radoslav Filipović, the club has now added two more Olympic champions to its roster: Sava Ranđelović and Nikola Dedović, both currently playing for Hungarian powerhouse Vasas.

These new additions mark a significant return of two Serbian national team members to domestic club water polo after nearly a decade of competing abroad. Both Ranđelović and Dedović are set to arrive in Kragujevac next summer, once they have completed their commitments with Vasas, where they are competing in both the Hungarian league and the prestigious Champions League. The pair have signed two-year deals with Radnički, signaling their commitment to help the club push for further success.

Sava Ranđelović, 31, began his career in his hometown of Niš before moving to Crvena Zvezda, where he won the Champions League. His illustrious career then took him abroad, where he played for Italian side Brescia, Hungarian OSC, and finally Vasas. A key figure in the Serbian national team for many years, Ranđelović has an extensive list of accolades, including three Olympic gold medals, which highlight his status as one of the sport’s elite players.

Nikola Dedović, 32, is another familiar face for Radnički fans. He previously played for the club in the 2014/15 season, where he was instrumental in helping Radnički win their first domestic trophy, the Serbian Cup, and was named the MVP of the final tournament. After his stint in Kragujevac, Dedović played for Rijeka Primorje, Spandau in Germany, Sintez Kazan, and Vasas. With the Serbian national team, Dedović has won two Olympic gold medals, including a recent triumph at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

With these latest signings, Radnički is assembling a formidable squad capable of challenging for domestic and international honors. The return of two such experienced and decorated players will not only boost the club’s chances in upcoming competitions but also reinforce its reputation as a leading force in Serbian and European water polo.

Both Ranđelović and Dedović bring with them a wealth of experience, leadership, and championship pedigree. As Radnički continues to build a team around a core of Olympic champions and talented newcomers, fans in Kragujevac will have high hopes for a successful campaign.

The water polo community will eagerly await the summer of 2025 when these two stars make their return to Serbian club water polo and begin the next chapter of their impressive careers.
