Rumours swirl as Paula Crespi Linked with sensational switch to Sabadell

Olympic gold medalist and Champions League winner Paula Crespí Barriga is being strongly linked with a high-profile move from Sant Andreu to Sabadell.

The 27-year-old defender has been a cornerstone of Sant Andreu’s success over the past two seasons. Crespí, who returned to the club in 2023 after a spell at CE Mediterrani, helped guide Sant Andreu to back-to-back Copa de la Reina titles in 2024 and 2025, both times against Sabadell.

But perhaps her crowning achievement came just this weekend, when she played a vital role in Sant Andreu’s Champions League triumph, defeating none other than Sabadell in the final — further igniting speculation that the reigning European champions may be about to lose their star to their fiercest rivals.

Sources close to the situation suggest Sabadell are keen to rebuild after falling short both domestically and in Europe, and see Crespí as a critical piece of that puzzle. Her Olympic pedigree — having won gold with Spain at the 2024 Paris Olympics — and her proven ability in high-pressure matches make her an ideal fit for a Sabadell side looking to reclaim dominance.

Adding fuel to the fire, Sabadell have also been linked with other big names, including USA goalkeeper Isabel Williams, recently named the 2024 Cutino Award Winner and currently playing for Glyfada, as well as 19-year-old Spanish sensation Isabel Piralkova, another Paris gold medalist who has quickly become one of the most sought-after young players in Europe.

If confirmed, Crespí’s move would mark a dramatic chapter in an already fierce rivalry between Sant Andreu and Sabadell. While neither club has officially commented on the rumours, insiders suggest discussions have taken place behind closed doors — and a deal could materialize before the start of preseason.
