Just weeks after securing a third-place finish in the French league, Team Strasbourg is undergoing major changes, with several key players departing the club.
Veteran attacker Marko Petkovic has returned to Serbia, completing a move to Crvena Zvezda, while French international Lorris Canovas is set to bolster domestic rivals CN Marseille ahead of the new season.
The biggest departure, however, is that of Vlado Popadic, who has signed for AN Brescia, the 2024/25 runners-up in Italy’s Serie A1. Popadic, a two-time Olympian with Montenegro (Tokyo 2021, Paris 2024), brings experience and versatility to Brescia’s lineup. Before his stint in Strasbourg, he played for Montenegrin powerhouse Jadran Herceg Novi, and now joins Alessandro Bovo’s team as they continue to rebuild for another push at domestic and European titles.
Popadic’s move marks another strong signing for Italian water polo this summer, as Serie A1 clubs look to attract top international talent.
Meanwhile, Francesco Faraglia will leave Brescia to join his brother Pietro Faraglia at Pallanuoto Trieste, reuniting the siblings under one banner for the first time since their junior careers.
