Szegedi and Lendvay to leave UVSE

Two of UVSE’s brightest young water polo talents, Zoé Lendvay and Panni Szegedi, will leave the club at the end of the 2024–25 season.

Zoé Lendvay, 18, has made her mark in Hungary’s youth water polo scene. She is the daughter of former UVSE and BVSC player Dóra Kisteleki. Lendvay has continued that family tradition with pride. She has represented Hungary at various youth levels and helped UVSE win several age-group championships.

Her next move is still unknown. However, reports suggest she may stay in Budapest and join BVSC if she continues playing in Hungary.

Panni Szegedi, another UVSE product, has had a standout year. She joined UCLA for the 2024 season and played a key role in their unbeaten run to the NCAA title. In the final against California, she scored a hat trick.

Szegedi has also enjoyed success with Hungary’s national teams. Most recently, she helped Hungary win gold at the 2023 U20 World Championships in Coimbra. Despite these achievements, her role with the senior national team has been limited.

Next season, Szegedi is expected to play in Spain. She had talks with Terrassa, but she is most likely to join Sant Andreu, the current Copa de la Reina champions.
