UVSE will lose three important players this summer, with Kamilla Faragó, Panna Tiba and Kata Hajdú all set to continue their careers elsewhere.
Faragó (25) will move to Spain to join Assolim Mataró, correcting earlier reports that linked her with Sant Andreu. The Hungarian international will add further quality to a Mataró side that continues to compete at the top end of Spanish and European water polo.
Her arrival represents another significant move in the Spanish market, with Mataró strengthening a squad already built around high-level domestic and international experience. Faragó’s attacking quality and experience should make her an important addition as the club looks to remain among Spain’s leading contenders.
UVSE will also see two products of its academy move on to new challenges.
Panna Tiba (19) will stay in Hungary, joining BVSC ahead of the new season. Having come through the UVSE system, Tiba’s move represents an important step in her development as she looks to establish herself in a new environment and take on a larger role.
Kata Hajdú, 20, another player developed through the UVSE academy, is set for a major move abroad after agreeing to join Olympiacos. The Greek champions remain one of the strongest clubs in Europe, and Hajdú’s switch to Piraeus gives her the chance to test herself in one of the continent’s most demanding club environments.
For UVSE, the departures continue a summer of change. Losing three players in one window is significant, especially with Tiba and Hajdú both products of the club’s own pathway, but their moves also underline the quality of talent still being produced by arguably the best junior girls’ academy in Hungary.
For the players, however, the moves represent three very different opportunities: Faragó heading to Spain with Mataró, Tiba moving across Budapest to BVSC, and Hajdú taking on a new challenge with one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
