Trieste linked with Ranalli, Giustini and Rožić in major summer transfer push

Pallanuoto Trieste could be preparing one of the most ambitious transfer windows in Italian women’s water polo, with reports linking the club with three high-profile targets ahead of next season.

Roma’s Chiara Ranalli, Rapallo’s Sofia Giustini and Cosenza’s Iva Rožić have all been mentioned as possible targets for the Italian side. Nothing has been confirmed at this stage, but if Trieste were able to complete deals of this level, it would represent a serious statement of intent.

Ranalli, 29, would bring proven Serie A1 and international experience and she has been a familiar figure for SIS Roma in recent seasons. Her arrival would add experience and quality to a Trieste side seemingly looking to move closer to the top end of the Italian championship.

Giustini, 23, would be an even bigger signal of ambition. Born in Arenzano, she came through RN Arenzano before establishing herself as one of Italy’s brightest attacking players. After leaving SIS Roma for Spanish giants CN Sabadell in 2023, Giustini returned to Italy, with Rapallo announcing her as part of their team for the 2025/26 season.

Rožić, who turned 21 this month, would add another exciting layer to the potential rebuild. The Croatian international has played in Italy this season with Cosenza, and ŽAVK Mladost before then – where she had already emerged as one of the standout young names in Croatian women’s water polo.)

For Trieste, the appeal of such a window is obvious. Ranalli would offer experience, Giustini would bring elite attacking quality and proven international pedigree, while Rožić would add youth, scoring threat and long-term upside.

The Italian market is expected to be active this summer, and Trieste now appear to be one of the clubs to watch most closely. For now, the links remain at rumour stage, but if Ranalli, Giustini and Rožić all arrived in the same window, it would be one of the biggest summer statements in the Italian women’s game — and a clear sign that Pallanuoto Trieste are ready to aim higher next season.
