Two americans head to Italy: Amanda Price joins Padova, Malia Allen signs with Trieste

Two promising American players are set to make their mark in Italy’s Serie A1 Women’s Championship, with Amanda Price joining Plebiscito Padova and Malia Allen signing for Pallanuoto Trieste ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Amanda Price to Padova

Amanda Price, a commanding center from Long Beach State, will begin her professional career with Padova. A right-handed 2M/2M defender, Price brings strength, composure, and tactical maturity to the Italian side. A product of Palos Verdes Water Polo Club, she developed through the U.S. college system and earned recognition for her consistency and leadership.

Her arrival signals Padova’s continued rebuild as they aim to reassert themselves in the top tier of Italian and European water polo.

Malia Allen Joins Trieste

Pallanuoto Trieste have secured their second signing of the summer with Malia Allen, a left-handed attacker from Irvine, California, who joins on a one-year deal. A former standout at UCLA, Allen recently played for Panionios in Greece, helping the team reach the Euro Cup quarterfinals.

In 2025, Allen made her debut with the USA senior national team at the World Cup, further underlining her growing international pedigree. Known for her offensive impact from positions one and two, Allen is expected to play a key role in coach Paolo Zizza’s plans.

“I’m excited and can’t wait to join the group,” said Allen. “I’ll try to give my contribution and learn as much as I can from my teammates and coach.”

“She brings danger to our attack,” Zizza noted. “She’s already gained valuable experience in Europe and fits perfectly into our tactical setup.”

With Price and Allen heading to Italy, the 2025/26 season promises to feature even more American influence in one of Europe’s most competitive domestic leagues.
