Ugo Crousillat has committed his future to CN Marseille, with the long-serving captain signing a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2030.
The extension was revealed in an interview with La Provence, which described Marseille as the club of Crousillat’s life. Despite several spells abroad during a decorated career, the 35-year-old has maintained a strong connection with the club where his water polo journey began.
Crousillat came through the Marseille system before building an impressive career across Europe. He has represented Budva in Montenegro, Brescia in Italy, Szolnok in Hungary and Pays d’Aix in France, alongside multiple spells with Marseille. His time with Szolnok was particularly successful, winning the Hungarian championship and the Champions League in 2017.
He has since become one of the defining figures of the modern Marseille team and remains the club’s captain. Marseille’s official website currently lists Crousillat as part of the elite squad, while the club has previously highlighted his leadership role within the team.
The new agreement comes after a hugely successful 2025/26 season for Marseille. The French giants completed a historic treble, winning the French Championship, Coupe de France and Euro Cup. Their European triumph was Marseille’s second Euro Cup title, secured against Jadran Split after protecting a three-goal first-leg advantage in the return leg in Croatia.
For Crousillat, it added another chapter to a career already closely intertwined with the club. He has won numerous domestic titles in Marseille colours while also becoming one of the most prominent French players of his generation.
His international career has also included two Olympic appearances with France, at Rio 2016 and Paris 2024, as well as a World Championship silver medal while representing Montenegro in 2013.
Earlier this year, Crousillat stepped away temporarily from the French national team ahead of the European Championships, explaining that he needed a period of mental recovery after almost two decades at international level. His club career, however, has continued at the highest level.
Now, with a contract running until 2030, Crousillat is set to continue his association with Marseille well into the latter stages of his playing career — extending a relationship with the Cercle that began when he was a child.
