The final period produced another dramatic turnaround, with Honved reclaiming the lead before Soma Lakatos equalised with just nine seconds remaining to force a penalty shootout at 13-13.

Vasas eventually prevailed 8-7 in the shootout, with goalkeeper Marton Mizsei making the decisive save. Bence Batori scored four goals for the visitors, while Bendeguz Ekler led Honved with five.

Elsewhere, Szolnok recorded an emphatic 21-12 victory over Szeged, moving level on 12 points with unbeaten Ferencvaros and BVSC.
