Montenegrin international Vasilije Radović is expected to leave Jadran Herceg Novi and join French powerhouse Cercle des Nageurs de Marseille, with only the final signature and official announcement pending.
While the transfer has not yet been formally confirmed by either club, all indications suggest the move is effectively completed, with Radović set to begin a new chapter in France ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 2003-born defender is regarded as one of Montenegro’s brightest young talents and has already established himself as a key figure for both Jadran and the Montenegrin national team despite his age.
Radović has been a regular part of Jadran’s first team since the 2019/20 season, helping the club win three Montenegrin league titles and four domestic cups during his time in Herceg Novi. Internationally, he was part of the Montenegro side that won World League gold in Tbilisi in 2021, while also representing the “Sharks” at multiple World and European Championships. In 2024, he made his Olympic debut for Montenegro.
He also enjoyed success at youth level, winning bronze with Montenegro at the 2021 U20 World Championships in Prague.
Last summer, Radović extended his contract with Jadran in what was understood to be a 2+1 agreement. However, the structure of the deal now allows him to leave this summer, opening the door for Marseille to secure one of the Adriatic region’s most promising defensive players.
For Marseille, the signing would represent another statement of intent as the French giants continue building a squad capable of competing deep into European competition. Radović’s physicality, mobility and defensive presence are viewed as major assets, while his experience at Champions League level at such a young age only adds to his value.
Losing Radović will undoubtedly be a blow for Jadran Herceg Novi, where he has developed into one of the cornerstones of the team over recent seasons. However, the transfer also reflects the club’s continued reputation for producing players capable of earning moves to some of Europe’s top sides.
At this stage, only the official confirmation appears to remain.
