The draw for the 2026/27 Women’s Champions League group stage has been completed, with 16 of Europe’s leading clubs discovering their opponents for the next phase of the competition.
Monday’s draw produced several intriguing matchups, including a meeting between reigning European champions Olympiacos and Italian giants Orizzonte, while eight-time winners Sabadell will face Ferencvaros in Group D.
The 16 teams have been divided into four groups of four, with the top two from each group advancing to the quarter-finals following six rounds of home-and-away matches.
Olympiacos Face Italian and Greek Opposition
Defending champions Olympiacos will begin their pursuit of a fifth European title in Group C, where they have been drawn alongside Orizzonte, Ethnikos and Terrassa.
The Greek side lifted their fourth Champions League trophy in June after defeating Ferencvaros in a penalty shootout in Malta.
Their group includes a domestic encounter with Ethnikos, while Orizzonte bring considerable European pedigree. Spanish side Terrassa complete a competitive group after securing qualification over the weekend.
Sabadell and Ferencvaros Set for Group D Clash
One of the standout pairings sees Sabadell drawn alongside Ferencvaros, Roma and Rapallo in Group D.
Sabadell, the competition’s most successful Spanish club, qualified for the group stage in impressive fashion, scoring 72 goals across their three qualification matches.
Ferencvaros, meanwhile, will be looking to build on last season’s campaign, when they reached the Champions League final before narrowly losing to Olympiacos.
The group also features two Italian representatives in Roma and Rapallo, setting up another domestic encounter.
Mataro Drawn Against Two Hungarian Clubs
Group A brings together Mataro, UVSE, BVSC and Dutch champions De Zaan.
Mataro, who reached last season’s Final Four, will face two Hungarian opponents as UVSE and BVSC look to secure places in the knockout stage.
UVSE progressed from qualification in Berlin, while De Zaan secured their place following two narrow victories, including a dramatic 14-13 win over Dunaujvaros.
The group also guarantees a Hungarian derby between UVSE and BVSC.
Spanish Derby Highlights Group B
Group B features another domestic matchup, with Sant Andreu and Catalunya drawn together alongside Vouliagmeni and Trieste.
Catalunya enter the group stage for the first time in their history after winning last season’s Euro Cup and successfully navigating qualification.
Sant Andreu, the 2025 European champions, will be aiming for another strong continental campaign, while Greek contenders Vouliagmeni and Italian qualifiers Trieste complete the group.
The group stage begins on October 31, with the six matchdays running through to March 13, 2027, before the competition moves into the quarter-finals.
