Round 7 of the Italian Serie A1 Men delivered a mix of dominant displays and late drama — with Brescia smashing Ortigia 24:10, while nail-biting finishes in Rome and Naples stole much of the spotlight.
Brescia unstoppable, all outfield players score
Brescia produced their most emphatic performance of the season so far, crushing Ortigia 24:10. Every outfield player found the scoresheet in a demonstration of depth and attacking power. Guerrato, Lodi, Viskovic, and Alesiani each struck three times, while Carnesecchi’s four goals for Ortigia proved a mere consolation.
The victory keeps Brescia level with Pro Recco at the top of the table — both sides boasting a perfect record after seven rounds.
Recco maintains perfect start
Pro Recco, the reigning champions, continued their relentless pace with an 18:10 win over Iren Genova Quinto. Francesco Di Fulvio was the standout performer with five goals, supported by Álvaro Granados with three. The Ligurian powerhouse remains the benchmark of consistency, matching Brescia’s points total at the summit.
Rome derby thriller decided late
In the capital, Roma Vis Nova edged city rivals Olympic Roma 13:12 in a pulsating encounter that swung back and forth. The match was level numerous times before Jerko Penava netted his third goal — and the game-winner — with just over a minute left on the clock.
The result propels Roma Vis Nova into sixth place, narrowly ahead of their cross-town rivals.
Comeback win for Posillipo in Naples
Naples hosted another thriller as Posillipo overturned a disastrous start to beat De Akker 13:12. The visitors raced to a 4:0 first-quarter lead, but Posillipo rallied, dominating the middle periods to move ahead 10:9 heading into the final quarter.
De Akker briefly regained control before Vincenzo Renzuro Iodice — the game’s top scorer with five goals — struck late to seal a dramatic win for the home side.
Elsewhere in Round 7
Savona picked up an important 16:10 away win at Salerno, with veteran Pietro Figlioli rolling back the years to score six goals.
Trieste also impressed, beating Florentia 17:11 thanks to a six-goal performance from Vuk Draskovic.
Canottieri registered their second win of the season, defeating Telimar 14:10 in a spirited home performance.
