Olympiacos have officially confirmed the signing of Dániel Angyal, bringing one of Europe’s most experienced and in-form defenders to Piraeus ahead of the 2025–26 season. The Hungarian international joins from Marseille, where he played a key role during the French club’s impressive run in the Champions League.
Standing at 203 cm, Angyal has been a commanding presence for CN Marseille, particularly in this season’s high-stakes victories over clubs such as Olympiacos and Novi Beograd. His defensive reliability and ability to control the tempo of the game made him a standout performer in the French capital.
At 33, Angyal arrives in Greece with a wealth of top-level experience. His club career has seen him represent several of Hungary’s most respected teams — including KSI, Honvéd, Vasas, Eger, Szolnok, and OSC — before making the move to France in 2023. His achievements on the international stage are equally impressive: Olympic bronze (Tokyo 2020), World Championship gold (Fukuoka 2023), and multiple European Championship medals.
Olympiacos, who continue to strengthen their roster in pursuit of domestic and European success, have made a major statement with this acquisition. Angyal’s arrival reinforces the club’s ambitions for the upcoming Champions League campaign, adding experience, leadership, and quality to an already competitive squad.
