The second round of the Hungarian League delivered few close encounters, with the narrowest winning margin being just two goals.
Honvéd edged Szentes 15–13 in one of the weekend’s more competitive fixtures. The Budapest side started strong, leading 6–4 after the first quarter, but Szentes roared back with five unanswered goals in the second to take a 9–6 advantage into halftime.
Nikola Moskov, who netted five times, spearheaded Honvéd’s comeback. The hosts opened the third period with a 4–0 run to reclaim the lead at 11–10. Although Szentes briefly equalised, Honvéd struck three times in succession to make it 14–11 early in the final quarter. Szentes reduced the gap to one, but Bendegúz Ekler sealed the victory with a man-up goal in the final 25 seconds.
Three days after lifting their sixth European Super Cup, Ferencváros produced another emphatic display, defeating DVSE Debrecen 24–8. Gergő Fekete, Vince Varga, and Vendel Vigvári each scored four times as the defending champions dominated from start to finish.
BVSC were equally ruthless, recording a 25–12 win over UVSE.
Vasas secured a 16–11 victory against Eger. Last season’s runners-up built an 8–3 halftime lead and never looked back. Bence Bátori and Gábor Lőrinc both scored three goals, while Rajmund Radli led Eger’s scoring with four.
OSC overcame Kaposvár 17–13, thanks to four goals from Sebastian Hessels.
Szolnok bounced back strongly after their Euro Cup qualifying exit to Terrassa, earning a 16–10 win over Miskolc. The visitors held a 4–3 advantage midway through the second quarter before Szolnok found their rhythm with a 7–0 run between the 14th and 19th minutes, effectively sealing the game.
Szeged were the only away team to register a victory, defeating KSI 14–9.
