Great Britain have confirmed their 14-player squad for the upcoming Women’s European Water Polo Championships, which will take place in Funchal at the end of January.
The team, led by head coach Theo Nousios, has been drawn into Group D, where Great Britain will face Israel, the Netherlands, and Switzerland during the group phase.
Squad
Katy Cutler, Amélie Cornell, Lucy Blenkinship, Toula Falvey, Cecily Turner, Katie Brown, Harriet Dickens, Cassidy Ball, Lily Ross, Kathy Rogers, Amelia Peters, Isobel Howe, Brooke Tafazolli, Sophie Jackson.
Recent tournament record
Great Britain’s recent results underline the steady progress of the women’s programme on the international stage.
Team GB re-emerged on the international stage in 2024 with an impressive seventh-place finish at the European Championships. On the world stage, Great Britain placed 11th at the 2024 World Championships and repeated that result in 2025, confirming their status as a competitive and increasingly stable presence at the top level.
These performances reflect a programme that is widely regarded as the strongest challenger outside the established European “big six”, with clear evidence of structural growth, competitive resilience, and narrowing margins against the continent’s elite. The European Championships in Funchal will offer another opportunity for Great Britain to demonstrate that progress and push for further advancement.
