The women’s national team of Great Britain has announced its women’s training squad for the upcoming 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, with a blend of experience, overseas talent, and rising stars making this the most formidable GB women’s team in over a decade.
The squad, which will be trimmed closer to the tournament, follows an impressive 2024 season in which Great Britain placed 7th at the European Championships in Eindhoven – their best finish since the program’s rebirth – and secured an 11th-place finish at the World Championships in Doha.
Great Britain will be aiming to break new ground in Singapore by securing a top-10 finish at the World Championships — something they haven’t achieved since placing 9th back in 1986.
With a strong overseas contingent, the team features three players based in Spain’s top division with CN Catalunya: American-born goalkeeper Cassidy Ball, team captain Kathy Rogers, and attacker Toula Falvey. Their presence underlines GB’s growing reputation on the international stage.
Lily Turner, fresh from a standout season with Greek side Glyfada, also returns to the fold, while young centre Amélie Perkins continues to impress with Plebiscito Padova in Italy. Annie Clapperton, a consistent scoring threat, brings further international pedigree with Tenerife Echeyde in Spain’s División de Honor. Harriet Dickens has followed in the footsteps of GB captain Kathy Rogers and goalkeeper Sophie Jackson in making her mark with the Michigan Wolverines, adding yet more firepower to an already potent lineup.
This is a training squad brimming with experience, technical ability, and international exposure – a clear sign of the progress made since London 2012, the last time Great Britain’s women competed at an Olympic Games.
