Joint camp with Serbia in Piraeus
As part of preparations, Serbia men’s national water polo team—hosts of the European Championship—will be in Greece from December 26–29, with joint training sessions, unofficial practice matches, and an official friendly on December 28 in Piraeus.
During the camp, the Greek Olympic Committee will honour members of the Greek team that competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics, the first Greek side to finish 8th at an Olympic Games.
Group & European context
Greece have been drawn into Group B with Slovenia, Croatia, and Georgia. Despite strong results on the global stage—including Olympic silver in 2020 and World Championship silver in 2023—the European Championships have historically been a problem, with Greece never having won a medal at the tournament and fourth place (1999, 2016) remaining their best finishes.
