Honvéd outclasses Szolnok with dominant 15:8 victory in Round 7

Honvéd delivered one of their most convincing performances of the season, defeating Szolnok 15:8 in the headline match of Round 7 in the Hungarian League.

Just days after a tough Euro Cup home loss to Barcelona, Szolnok struggled to match Honvéd’s intensity. Although the visitors opened the scoring on their first possession, Honvéd quickly took control. The hosts produced a huge 8:1 run to surge to an 8:2 advantage late in the second quarter, and they entered halftime with a commanding 9:3 lead.

Honvéd extended the gap to nine goals in the final period (13:4, 14:5), before Szolnok added a few late goals to reduce the deficit. Péter Sűr collected three goals for the winners, while Moskov, Vadovics and Vicković scored two each. Maxim Cseh led Szolnok with three.

Szeged 11–12 Vasas: Visitors escape again

After narrowly surviving a scare against Kaposvár last week (17:16), Vasas were pushed hard once again — this time by 6th-placed Szeged. The hosts led 10:8 late in the third quarter, but Vasas found another gear when it mattered.

Between the 24th and 29th minutes, the visitors scored four unanswered goals to take a 12:10 lead — their first 2-goal advantage of the match. Szeged added a late consolation, but Vasas held on for a 12:11 win. Soma Lakatos and Tamás Gyárfás both netted hat-tricks.

Ferencváros, Eger win; BVSC dominate in evening match

Ferencváros continued their dominant start, beating Kaposvár 22:9 behind a six-goal performance from Stylianos Argyropoulos.

Eger were made to work but eventually overcame winless Miskolc, securing a 17:14 victory.

In Sunday evening’s final match, BVSC defeated OSC 14:7 (1:3, 2:2, 5:2, 4:2).
BVSC blew the match wide open with six unanswered goals in the second half, leaving OSC with no way back. Mátyás Mészáros finished as the game’s top scorer with three goals.
