Max Irving signs for Pro Recco

Max Irving has officially joined Italian champions Pro Recco for the 2025/26 season, the club confirmed today.

The 29-year-old American attacker arrives from fellow Serie A1 side AN Brescia, where he has spent the past two seasons. Irving played a pivotal role in Brescia’s 2024 Coppa Italia triumph and was instrumental in their run to the 2025 Serie A1 finals.

Irving now joins a Pro Recco squad that remains the benchmark in European club water polo. Fresh off claiming their 37th Italian league title and preparing for a return to the LEN Champions League — which they’ve won a record 11 times — Recco continue to add top-tier international talent to their ranks.

Irving is Recco’s second summer signing, following the confirmed arrival of Spanish international Álvaro Granados from Barceloneta.

A two-time Olympian, Irving helped Team USA to a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics and won gold at the 2023 Pan American Games. Known for his vision, movement, and finishing from the right side, he adds versatility and experience to an already world-class Recco roster.

With the signing of Irving, Recco further underlines its ambition to reclaim the Champions League title and maintain domestic supremacy in the 2025/26 campaign.
