Olympiacos Triumph in Thrilling Shootout to Secure Group D Supremacy

Olympiacos Piraeus staged a remarkable comeback to secure first place in Group D of the Champions League. Trailing RN Savona by four goals late in the game, the Greeks rallied to force a shootout, where Panagiotis Tzortzatos stopped all three penalties to seal victory. Meanwhile, Barceloneta maintained their perfect record with a hard-fought win over Marseille, while Jadran Herceg Novi outclassed Vasas-Plaket in Group C.

Jadran secured third place with a dominant win over Vasas. A close first half saw the Montenegrins pull away in the third quarter, scoring ten goals in the second half. Vasas, fatigued from a demanding schedule, struggled to keep up.

Barceloneta’s match against Marseille showcased a balanced battle. Felipe Perrone and Álvaro Granados led the Spaniards, who survived a late push from Marseille to secure their sixth consecutive victory.

RN Savona seemed poised for victory, leading 11–7 late in the fourth quarter. However, a red card to Pietro Figlioli turned the tide, as Olympiacos capitalized with goals from Dimitrios Dimou and Alexandros Papanastasiou.

In the shootout, Tzortzatos’ heroics ensured Olympiacos claimed the top spot. In the other game, Primorac edged Sabadell in a thrilling back-and-forth encounter to earn their first win of the competition.
