Orizzonte win 2026 Italian Cup on International Women’s Day

L’Ekipe Orizzonte claimed the 2026 Coppa Italia Unipol title after defeating Pallanuoto Trieste 11–7 in the Final Six championship match at the Felice Scandone Federal Center in Naples. The victory secured Orizzonte’s sixth Italian Cup title and their first in two years.

Martina Miceli’s side controlled the final from the opening period, combining strong defence with consistent scoring to maintain their advantage throughout. Dafne Bettini and Claudia Roberta Marletta led the attack with three goals each, helping the Catania club close out a comfortable win despite Trieste’s spirited performance in their first Coppa Italia final.

Orizzonte reached the final after beating Plebiscito Padova 15–9 in the quarterfinals and Rapallo 14–11 in the semifinals.

In the third-place match, SIS Roma defeated Rapallo Pallanuoto 17–16 on penalties after the teams finished 13–13 in regulation time.

The tournament concluded on International Women’s Day, with athletes, coaches, and referees honoured with traditional mimosa flowers, while the title was also dedicated to Orizzonte’s late owner Giorgio Bartolini, who passed away in February.
