CN Sant Andreu secured their third consecutive Copa de la Reina Iberdrola title with a convincing 16–10 victory over CN Sabadell in the final at Can Llong on Sunday.
The match was a repeat of last year’s final, with Sant Andreu once again proving too strong. Javi Aznar’s side started the game in dominant fashion, quickly building an early lead through goals from Elena Ruiz and Alba Muñoz at center forward. Sabadell responded through Dutch star Simone van de Kraats from the penalty spot, but Sant Andreu continued to control the tempo. Goals from Gisela Farré, Pipa Pedley, and Ari Ruiz helped the defending champions establish a 5–2 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Sant Andreu extended their advantage in the second period, with Pedley striking again before María Palacio and Nona Pérez pushed the score to 8–3. Although Judith Forca reduced the deficit before halftime, Sant Andreu entered the break comfortably ahead at 8–4.
Sabadell briefly threatened a comeback in the third quarter when Forca’s left-handed strike cut the gap to 9–7, but Sant Andreu quickly responded. Goals from Ari Ruiz and Alice Williams, including a converted penalty, restored control and stretched the lead to 11–7.
Any remaining hopes of a Sabadell comeback faded in the final period. Farré and Williams added further goals as Sant Andreu managed the closing minutes confidently. Goalkeeper Martina Terré also delivered an outstanding performance, finishing with 13 saves, helping secure the victory as the match ended 16–10.
With the triumph, Sant Andreu lift the Copa de la Reina for the third consecutive season, confirming their status as one of the dominant forces in Spanish women’s water polo.
