Panathinaikos confirm signing of Italy international Vincenzo Dolce

Panathinaikos have completed the signing of Italy international Vincenzo Dolce from AN Brescia, adding another major name to their increasingly ambitious squad.

The 31-year-old defender spent six seasons with Brescia, winning both the Italian championship and Coppa Italia during his time with the club. He previously lifted the Euro Cup with Posillipo in 2015.

Dolce also arrives with extensive international experience. He has won gold and silver medals at the World Championships with Italy, as well as European bronze, and was part of the Settebello squad at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

His arrival continues a significant summer of recruitment for Panathinaikos, who have already strengthened their squad with Greek internationals Dimitrios Nikolaidis and Efstathios Kalogeropoulos.

Nikolaidis joins from Olympiacos and provides additional quality at centre forward. The 27-year-old has played for several of Europe’s leading clubs and was named the Champions League’s best centre forward during the 2022/23 season.

Kalogeropoulos, meanwhile, arrives from Marseille after helping the French club win the Euro Cup last season. The 25-year-old perimeter player has become an established member of the Greek national team and competed at the Paris Olympic Games.

Together, the three additions give Panathinaikos greater physicality, experience and tactical flexibility across the pool.

The Greens reached the Greek championship final last season but were unable to overcome Olympiacos. Their recruitment suggests the club are determined to close the remaining gap and mount an even stronger challenge for domestic and European honours in 2026/27.

Dolce will now begin a new chapter in Athens as Panathinaikos continue assembling one of the strongest squads in the club’s history.
