Trieste sign Spanish left-hander Alejandra Aznar

Pallanuoto Trieste have signed Spanish attacker Alejandra Aznar from CN Atlètic-Barceloneta as they continue to strengthen their squad for the 2026-27 season.

The left-hander is the latest arrival at the Italian club, following the signing of Italy international Sofia Giustini from Rapallo.

Giustini scored 63 goals during the 2025-26 Serie A1 regular season and added another 11 in the play-offs, underlining Trieste’s intention to add more attacking quality ahead of the new campaign.

Aznar will provide a different option on the right side of the attack, where left-handed players can offer greater balance in both settled possession and extra-player situations.

She arrives after playing for Atlètic-Barceloneta in Spain and will now begin the next stage of her career in the Italian top flight.

Trieste announced the deal as another significant move in the transfer market, with the club continuing to reshape its squad after an ambitious recruitment drive.

The additions of Aznar and Giustini give Trieste greater depth and flexibility in attack as they look to improve their position domestically and compete strongly across the 2026-27 campaign.

Further additions could follow before the start of the season as Trieste continue to build around a squad designed to challenge Italy’s leading sides.
