Hungarian international Panni Szegedi has officially signed with CN Terrassa, marking the start of her professional club career outside of Hungary.
Szegedi, 20, spent her entire junior and senior domestic career with UVSE, developing into one of Hungary’s brightest young talents. In 2024, she briefly joined UCLA and played a pivotal role in the Bruins’ unbeaten campaign that culminated in an NCAA Championship title. Szegedi was instrumental in the final against California, scoring a decisive hat trick. She returned to UVSE for the 2024–25 season before securing her move to Spain.
Her success on the international stage is equally noteworthy. In 2023, Szegedi helped Hungary claim gold at the U20 World Championships in Coimbra, underlining her status as one of the most promising young players in European water polo. While her role with the senior national team has so far been limited, her move to Spain is expected to accelerate her development and boost her chances of a more regular place in Sandor Cseh’s squad.
