Two one-goal games defined Round 6 of the Premier VRL League, as Sabac stunned Novi Beograd to move top of the table, while Primorac claimed derby bragging rights in Herceg Novi.
Sabac Stun Novi Beograd in Belgrade (17–16)
Sabac defeated Novi Beograd for the first time in five years, producing a huge away performance in the capital to jump to the top of the standings.
NBG started stronger, leading 3:1 late in the first quarter, but Sabac quickly flipped the momentum with a 3:0 run to go ahead 4:3. The lead exchanged hands several times before the hosts entered halftime with an 8:7 advantage.
The third quarter proved decisive. After trading early goals, Sabac exploded with another 3:0 surge to turn an 8:9 deficit into an 11:9 lead — a cushion they would protect for the remainder of the match. The visitors twice stretched the gap to three goals (15:12 and 16:13) before a late NBG push closed the score to 16:17 in the final minute.
Andrej Barac led Sabac with four goals, while Darko Djurovic delivered 14 saves in a high-pressure performance. Vasilije Martinovic scored six for NBG.
Primorac Win Boka Bay Derby (15–14)
Jadran controlled much of the first half and led 8:7 at the break, but Primorac came out firing in the third period. Four unanswered goals in under three minutes turned the game on its head, pushing the visitors 11:8 ahead.
Jadran clawed back to 14:14 inside the final two minutes through Jovan Vujovic, but Primorac responded immediately — Marko Mrsic burying the winner with just over three minutes to play.
Jadran had the final possession, but Dimitrije Risticevic produced his 13th save of the night to secure the victory.
Mrsic finished with four goals, Yusuke Inaba added three. Dmitrii Kholod hit six for Jadran.
Radnicki Fight Back to Beat Crvena Zvezda (10–8)
Crvena Zvezda opened the match strongly with a 4:1 lead, but Radnicki grew into the game and levelled at 5:5 just before halftime through young Doncic on the counter.
Two converted penalties from Vapenski and Prlainovic early in the third quarter swung momentum fully in Radnicki’s favour. They held a steady lead from there, extending the margin to 9:6 before closing out a controlled 10:8 win.
Prlainovic and Randjelovic scored three each for the hosts; Marko Petkovic netted three for Zvezda.
