Sant Andreu books final spot with win over Terrassa

The finals of Spain’s First Division competitions are now set—and both promise elite-level water polo.

On the men’s side, it will be Zodiac CN Atlètic-Barceloneta versus KEIO CN Sabadell. Meanwhile, in the women’s final, Astralpool CN Sabadell will meet CN Sant Andreu, who secured their place after a decisive 14–10 victory away at CN Terrassa.

Javi Aznar’s squad overcame a spirited performance by Edu Vera’s Terrassa side in the second game of the semifinal series. After edging the first encounter, Sant Andreu showed resilience to close out the tie on the road—just days after narrowly missing out on a place in the Champions League final.

Sant Andreu flew out of the gates at the Pere Serrat Pool, taking a 4–1 lead by the end of the first quarter. But Terrassa were not about to roll over, slowly clawing their way back into the game. By halftime, the hosts had cut the deficit to 6–8, and a determined third-quarter effort brought the game level at 10–10.

However, Sant Andreu found another gear in the final eight minutes. A dominant 0–4 run in the last quarter silenced the home crowd and sealed a return to the league final.

With the final against reigning champions Astralpool Sabadell now confirmed, Sant Andreu will look to carry their momentum into what promises to be a thrilling championship showdown.
