Serbia announces 26-player squad for World Championship preparations

Serbia’s head coach Uroš Stevanović has named a 26-player squad to begin preparations for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore. The team will commence training on June 2 in Kragujevac.

There are several notable changes compared to the group that competed at the Paris Olympics. Centre-forward Nemanja Ubović is absent from the wider list, while 32-year-old Nikola Murišić, currently with Radnički and previously part of the Montenegrin national team, has been called up for the first time. Murišić’s participation remains subject to approval from World Aquatics regarding his change of sporting nationality. Also returning to the squad is Boris Vapenski, rejoining the national team after more than a decade away.

  • June 2–10: Training in Kragujevac (Champions League Final Four participants join on June 6)
  • June 12: Team gathers in Šabac
  • June 13–15: International tournament in Šabac featuring France, Romania, and Georgia
  • June 16–25: Training camp in Trebinje
  • June 27–29: Four-nation tournament in Budapest with Croatia, Spain, and Hungary
  • July 2: Departure to Bangkok
  • July 3–8: Joint training with Australia
  • July 9: Travel to Singapore
  • July 12–24: World Aquatics Championships

Serbia enters this summer with renewed ambitions and a blend of experience and fresh talent, aiming to make a strong impression on the global stage in Singapore.
