Sergi Cabanas set for Sabadell return

After two seasons in Croatia with Jug Dubrovnik, Spanish defender Sergi Cabanas looks set for a return to CN Sabadell.

Sources close to the matter suggest the 29-year-old will rejoin the club ahead of the 2025/26 season—two years after leaving the team he represented from 2014 to 2023.

A stalwart of the Spanish national team for over seven years, Cabanas added to his glittering collection of international honours this year with gold at the World Cup in Podgorica. He now has four major gold medals with Spain, alongside silver at the 2019 World Championships and 2018 Europeans, and several bronze medals across major competitions.

If confirmed, this would be a huge signing for Sabadell. But there could be more significant movement on the horizon.

  • Àlex Llauradó is reportedly on his way out of Sabadell to join CE Mediterrani, a move that could give the Barcelona-based side a solid boost.
  • Javi Bustos is rumoured to be attracting interest from abroad, with Vasas in Hungary mentioned as a potential destination.
  • Meanwhile, Rafaell Vergara, the Brazilian international standout from UCLA, is expected to join Sabadell, adding young firepower and NCAA pedigree to the mix.
