Marseille may have impressed in Europe this season, but changes are already underway in the south of France. As previously announced, Andrija Prlainović will be leaving CNM at the end of the season to return to Serbia with Radnički, while Alessandro Velotto seems likely to be heading to CNAB.
Now, the club is actively searching for a replacement—and all eyes appear to be on Greece.
According to recent reports, Marseille is targeting 23-year-old Greek international Efstathios Kalogeropoulos, currently playing for NC Vouliagmeni.
Kalogeropoulos is part of Greece’s golden generation that took the water polo world by storm with back-to-back golds at the U18 (2018) and U20 (2019) World Championships. Since stepping up to the senior team, he’s added a silver medal at the 2023 World Championships, another at the 2025 World Cup, and two bronzes from earlier international campaigns.
A versatile and dynamic player, Kalogeropoulos would bring energy, youth, and international pedigree to Marseille’s evolving lineup.
Interestingly, he has also been linked with Panathinaikos—a sign that competition for his signature could be heating up.
Nothing is official yet, but Marseille’s interest seems real. Watch this space.
