Ten Teams Secure Euro Cup Group Stage Places as Final Qualification Spot Remains Up for Grabs

Ten clubs secured their places in the 2026/27 Men’s Euro Cup group stage on Saturday, leaving just one qualification spot available heading into the final day of preliminary action.

Primorac Kotor, Pays d’Aix, Apollon Smyrnis, Savona, Partizan, Sabac, Jug Dubrovnik, Barcelona, BVSC and Terrassa have all progressed, with the final place to be decided between Posillipo and Vouliagmeni on Sunday.

Apollon Win Another Thriller in Athens

Apollon Smyrnis continued their impressive qualification campaign with a dramatic 16-15 penalty shootout victory over Savona.

The Greek hosts recovered from a 12-10 deficit in the final minute, with Ioannis Laskaridis scoring a remarkable last-second equaliser to force penalties.

American international Hannes Daube scored six goals as Apollon maintained their unbeaten record.

Partizan also required penalties to overcome Duisburg 14-13, with Vuk Andjelic scoring four fourth-quarter goals, including a penalty that briefly put the Serbian club ahead with 15 seconds remaining.

Duisburg subsequently defeated Sintez Kazan 12-11, confirming qualification for Apollon, Savona and Partizan.

Barcelona Progress as Posillipo and Vouliagmeni Prepare for Decider

Barcelona secured their group stage place with an 11-9 victory over Posillipo in Naples.

Abel Ramon scored five goals for the Spanish side, who resisted several second-half comeback attempts from the Italian hosts.

Meanwhile, Vouliagmeni defeated Dinamo Bucharest 21-11, setting up a decisive encounter with Posillipo on Sunday for the final qualification place.

BVSC and Terrassa Advance in Podgorica

Hungarian side BVSC secured qualification with an impressive 14-5 victory over Primorje.

BVSC established a 6-3 half-time advantage before dominating the second half, with eight different players contributing goals.

Terrassa also progressed following a comfortable 19-10 victory against Buducnost, with Oscar Blasco, Albert Sabadell and Luka Krstic each scoring four goals.

Jug, Sabac and Primorac Impress

Jug Dubrovnik continued their prolific scoring form with a 24-10 victory over Hannover, while Sabac defeated Enka 18-11 to secure qualification from Group C.

Primorac Kotor overwhelmed Dinamo Tbilisi 25-11, with Balsa Vuckovic contributing six goals.

Pays d’Aix joined the Montenegrin club in progressing from Group A after defeating Galatasaray 19-15, inspired by six goals from Alexis Drahe.

With ten teams already through, Sunday’s remaining fixtures will determine final group positions, with particular attention on the decisive Posillipo-Vouliagmeni encounter.
