The Spanish women’s national team has officially begun its preparations for the World Cup Finals, with all eyes set on Sydney. The squad is already in Shanghai, where it will complete its first training camp from July 8 to 15 before heading into the most important international competition of the season.
During their stay in China, the team will take part in a series of training sessions and preparation matches against China and Russia. Once this first stage is completed, the delegation will travel to Australia for a four-match preparatory tournament, providing the final opportunity to fine-tune their form ahead of the official competition.
The 14-player squad features strong representation from some of the country’s leading clubs. Queralt Bertran, Martina Claveria and Mariona Terré have been selected from CN Mataró. CN Sant Andreu provides the largest contingent, with Paula Camús, Alba Muñoz, Nona Pérez, Ariadna Ruiz, Elena Ruiz and Martina Terré all included in the roster.
Meanwhile, Paula Crespi and Irene González will represent CN Sabadell, while Paula Leitón joins the team from CN Atlètic-Barceloneta, Carlota Peñalver from CE Mediterrani, and Paula Prats from CN Terrassa.
The players who have ultimately been left out of the final squad are Elisabeth Carmona, Irene Casado and Isabel Piralkova, and they will not travel with the team during this stage of preparation.

With training already underway in Shanghai and a demanding schedule of warm-up matches ahead, the Spanish women’s national team has officially started its journey to Sydney, aiming to arrive at the World Cup Finals in the best possible condition and ready to compete for success on the international stage
