European Aquatics (EA) has confirmed that fans wishing to watch the 2024 Super Cup between Ferencváros and Jug Dubrovnik will need to pay to access the stream.
The Super Cup final, featuring the Champions League winner against the Euro Cup winner, is set to take place this Saturday, 5th October, in Budapest. Access to the live stream will be available through European Aquatics TV at a cost of $5.99 (€5.42/£4.51).
While the shift to a pay-per-view model may generate revenue, it is likely to reduce viewership numbers compared to a free-to-access broadcast. Earlier this summer, EA faced criticism from Total Waterpolo for charging €35 to stream the U19 European Championships.
