Away Wins Dominate Round 3 in the Hungarian League

Visiting teams claimed victory in four of the five matches played during Round 3 of the 2026 Hungarian League this weekend, with only Szeged managing to protect their home pool.

Vasas Edge UVSE in a Thriller on Margaret Island

The most dramatic match of the round took place in the indoor pool of the iconic Alfréd Hajós Sports Center on Margaret Island, where UVSE hosted Vasas.

Just days after suffering a narrow Champions League defeat to Radnicki — a match Vasas led for most of the way — the Budapest side found themselves in another tense contest. This time, however, the outcome was different.

UVSE held the lead for much of the game and appeared poised for an upset, going 13:10 ahead early in the fourth quarter. But Vasas produced a remarkable late surge, scoring four unanswered goals to move 14:13 up with just over a minute and a half remaining.

UVSE managed to equalize, but with 55 seconds left, Péter Szalai struck the decisive blow to seal a 15:14 win for Vasas. Bogdan Djurdjic was instrumental with five goals, while Szalai added four in what was a thrilling finish on Margaret Island.

Honvéd Continue Perfect Run

Honvéd maintained their flawless record, earning their fourth consecutive league win with a 17:13 victory over Kaposvár. The match was defined by offensive power from Lazar Vickovic and Nikola Moskov, who each scored five goals to guide Honvéd to another confident performance.

BVSC Start Fast, Finish Strong

BVSC outclassed Miskolc, opening with a dominant 5:0 lead before being pegged back to 6:6 late in the second quarter. However, BVSC quickly regained control, re-establishing a comfortable margin and closing the match 14:9.

Szeged the Only Home Side Victorious

Szeged delivered the only home win of the round, defeating OSC Budapest 10:7 in a disciplined display. The hosts controlled the tempo from the outset, racing to a 6:2 halftime lead and maintaining their defensive solidity to seal a third consecutive victory.

Debrecen Prevail Away at KSI

In another away success, Debrecen overcame KSI 14:9. A strong second-half performance, featuring a 7:4 run across the final two quarters, secured all three points for the visitors.
