The fifth round of Spain’s Men’s Division of Honor brought high intensity and drama across the pools, featuring big wins, local rivalries, and a postponed Catalan clash. While Barceloneta and Terrassa cruised, Barcelona edged Sabadell in a battle of the unbeaten sides.

Barceloneta crush Sant Andreu in derby showdown

At the Sant Sebastià Pool, Barceloneta reaffirmed their dominance with a commanding 19:7 victory over city rivals Sant Andreu. The league leaders stormed ahead 9:2 by halftime, leaving no doubt about the outcome. Vince Vigvári starred with five goals, spearheading a complete team performance that keeps Barceloneta atop the standings.

Terrassa unstoppable at home

Terrassa enjoyed a routine win over Caballa, cruising to an 18:9 victory. Sergi Mora’s side exploded out of the gate with a 7:2 opening quarter and never looked back. Óscar Blasco led the scoring with four goals, while Terrassa’s fluid counter-attack proved too much for the visitors.

Barcelona take the points in battle of the unbeatens

At the Nova Escullera, Barcelona handed Sabadell their first defeat of the season with a thrilling 15:13 win. The hosts held an 8:5 halftime advantage, but Sabadell kept fighting back. When Averka made it 14:13 with two and a half minutes left, the pressure mounted — but Abel Ramón sealed the victory moments later to preserve Barcelona’s perfect start.

Catalunya claim vital win in relegation fight

In a crucial clash at the bottom of the table, Catalunya overcame Boadilla 17:14. The match was close throughout, but Catalunya’s sharper attack in the final quarter proved decisive. Despite a brave showing, Boadilla remain winless at the foot of the standings.
