Confirmed: Angelos Vlachopoulos Signs for Radnički Kragujevac

Angelos Vlachopoulos will remain in Serbia next season, having officially signed with Radnički Kragujevac. After days of speculation surrounding his future, the Greek international has opted to continue his career in the Serbian league—joining the newly crowned national champions.

Vlachopoulos leaves Novi Beograd after three seasons that saw him play a central role in the team’s dominance both domestically and in Europe. During his time in Belgrade, he helped the club reach three consecutive Champions League finals, win multiple national titles, and secure back-to-back Adriatic League trophies.

The Greek star becomes their fifth summer signing – the club have already aquired Andrija Prlainovic, Viktor Rasovic, Sava Randelovic and Nikola Dedovic.

Radnički land a major talent

The signing of Vlachopoulos is a major coup for Radnički. With ambitions of making a deep run in next season’s Champions League, the Kragujevac-based club has moved swiftly to reinforce its squad with elite-level experience. Vlachopoulos’ familiarity with Serbian water polo, combined with his international pedigree, makes him an ideal addition.

Standing at 179 cm, the right-handed driver may not be the most physically dominant player in the pool, but his game intelligence, sharp passing, and lethal outside shot have long made him one of the sport’s most influential figures. He will now form the core of a Radnički team determined to make its mark on the European stage.

One of Europe’s finest

A veteran of the Greek national team, Vlachopoulos has enjoyed a highly decorated career at both club and international level. His honours include:

  • Olympic Silver Medalist – Tokyo 2020
  • World Championship Bronze Medals – 2015 and 2022
  • World League Bronze Medalist – 2016
  • Greek Championship MVP – 2016
  • Champions League Top Scorer – 2020–21
  • Greek Player of the Year – 2022
  • Adriatic League Right Winger of the Year – 2023–24

His club journey has taken him from Vouliagmeni and Olympiacos to Posillipo, Eger, Brescia, and Novi Beograd. Now, with Radnički, he adds a new chapter to a remarkable career that continues to defy age and expectations.

A big statement from Kragujevac

Vlachopoulos’ decision to sign with Radnički—despite reported interest from Olympiacos and Panathinaikos—sends a strong message about the club’s growing ambitions. For Radnički, this is not just a transfer; it’s a statement of intent ahead of the 2025–26 season..

With one of Europe’s best now officially onboard, the Serbian champions have taken a major step toward establishing themselves as a force on the continental stage.
