Spanish centre-forward Miguel de Toro could be set for a summer exit from Ferencvárosi TC, with CN Marseille emerging as a potential destination.
The 32-year-old remains one of Europe’s most established centres. A key figure for Spain men’s national water polo team, he has won multiple major titles, including World Championship gold (2022, 2025) and European Championship gold (2024), and continues to offer a strong physical presence at 2.02m.
However, his position at FTC looks increasingly uncertain. The Hungarian champions are heavily linked with a move for Konstantinos Kakaris from Olympiacos, and squad balance—particularly around foreign player spots—could force a decision.
If Kakaris arrives, it is widely expected that De Toro would be the one to make way. The Spaniard occupies a key role as a foreign centre-forward, and replacing him with a younger long-term option like Kakaris would fit FTC’s squad planning.
Marseille are understood to be monitoring the situation closely as they look to reinforce at centre ahead of next season and push further in European competition.
No deal is confirmed, but the situation is developing—and De Toro’s future in Budapest now appears closely tied to whether Kakaris completes his expected move.
