European Aquatics announces dates and locations for 2025 Men’s and Women’s U16 and U18 European Water Polo Championships

European Aquatics has officially announced the dates and venues for the 2025 Men’s and Women’s U16 and U18 European Water Polo Championships, set to take place in several cities across Europe. These premier age-group events will spotlight emerging talent and offer a thrilling platform for young athletes to showcase their skills on the international stage.

U16 Women’s European Water Polo Championship

U16 Men’s Division Elite European Water Polo Championship
Location: Manisa, Turkey
Dates: July 7 – July 13, 2025
U16 Men’s Division I European Water Polo Championship
Location: Ljubljana, Slovenia
Dates: July 7 – July 13, 2025
U18 Women’s European Water Polo Championship
Location: Gzira, Malta
Dates: September 1 – September 7, 2025
U18 Men’s Division Elite European Water Polo Championship
Location: Otopeni, Romania
Dates: August 18 – August 24, 2025
U18 Men’s Division I European Water Polo Championship
Location: To Be Confirmed
Dates: August 18 – August 24, 2025

A significant change this year is the introduction of two divisions—Division Elite and Division I—for each age group, removing the need for pre-qualification rounds. Based on prior European Water Polo Championship results, the top 16 teams will qualify for Division Elite, while others will compete in Division I. To further encourage women’s water polo development, Division Elite will include up to 20 teams in both the U16 and U18 women’s categories.

Seeding and eligibility for each division are based on the results of previous age-group championships, with new or unranked teams placed according to European Aquatics National Team Rankings.
