Ferencvaros have confirmed the signing of Greek centre-forward Konstantinos Kakaris ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The move had been rumoured for some time, but the Hungarian champions officially announced the arrival of the 27-year-old on Thursday.
Kakaris joins Ferencvaros after spending the past two seasons with Olympiacos, adding another major name to an already star-studded squad.
The Greek international has previously represented Olympiacos, Jug Dubrovnik and Pro Recco during a career that has taken him across three of Europe’s strongest domestic leagues.
Kakaris first left Olympiacos in 2021 to join Jug, where he spent two seasons before moving to Pro Recco in 2023. Following the Italian club’s financial problems in the summer of 2024, he returned to Olympiacos and remained with the Greek champions for the next two campaigns.
During his club career, Kakaris has collected domestic titles in Greece, Croatia and Italy.
He has also enjoyed considerable success with the Greek national team, winning silver medals at the 2023 World Championships and the 2025 World Cup.
Kakaris has additionally claimed three major bronze medals with Greece, finishing third at the 2022 and 2025 World Championships and the 2026 European Championships.
His arrival will reunite him with fellow Greek international Stylianos Argyropoulos, who has been one of Ferencvaros’ leading players over recent seasons.
Kakaris replaces Spanish centre-forward Miguel de Toro, who has left Ferencvaros to join Sabadell.
