CN Sabadell have completed the signings of Spanish internationals Miguel de Toro and Fran Valera as the club begin a major rebuild ahead of the 2026–27 season.
De Toro joins Sabadell from Ferencvaros, bringing his successful two-year spell in Hungary to an end.
The 32-year-old centre forward established himself as an important member of one of Europe’s strongest squads and helped Ferencvaros win the Champions League in 2025.
He has agreed to join Sabadell for the next two seasons, returning to Spain after competing at the highest level of European club water polo in Budapest.
De Toro’s arrival will strengthen Sabadell at centre forward following the departure of Oscar Asensio, who is among several players leaving the club this summer.
Sabadell have also secured the return of Fran Valera, who rejoins the Catalan side after spending the 2025–26 season with Jadran Herceg Novi.
The 27-year-old previously represented Sabadell before moving to Montenegro and returns with further international and European experience.
Valera was part of the Spanish national team that won the World Championship in Singapore in 2025 and will add quality and versatility to Sabadell’s perimeter line.
The arrival of the two Spanish internationals represents a significant statement from Sabadell as the club reshape their squad following the departure of long-serving head coach Quim Colet.
Alberto Barroso, Fede Panerai, Martin Famera, Tomas Soler and Asensio are all leaving the men’s team, creating space for a substantial renewal of the squad.
Colet’s departure brought an eight-year spell in charge to an end, during which Sabadell won the Euro Cup in 2022 and remained among the leading teams in Spanish water polo.
The signings of De Toro and Valera provide Sabadell with two experienced Spanish internationals around whom they can build the next stage of their project.
